My teaching is informed by the ideas that active learning and the creation of a teaching environment in which diversity of opinion can flourish are the best ways to achieve progression in student learning.
Political Ideologies
My taught modules are all informed by my research interests and draw on my published works. This includes modules on British Political Ideologies, Labour Thinkers and Conservative Thinkers.
Work placements
I am also the convenor of the Parliamentary Placement Scheme and the Local Placement Scheme which have had very positive results in terms of the subsequent employment opportunities of those students who undertook work placements.
