I joined the Widening Participation team in April 2024. I mainly work in the post-16 team, supporting our Liverpool Scholars and Realising Opportunities programmes. I lead our attainment and mentoring support for our Year 13 Scholars and assist with the running of the Destination Medicine Summer School.
I am incredibly passionate about supporting young people to access higher education regardless of their background or access to support within their personal or family networks. Across the various projects I work on, I engage with young people, their parents and carers, teachers, current undergraduates, and pastoral and academic staff across the universities.
I grew up in Liverpool and was supported by widening participation programmes when I was making my university application. Before working at the University of Liverpool I ran an award-winning non-profit organisation which supported young people to make applications to Oxbridge and medical school, and I was involved in widening participation while I was a university student.
