Research Staff Conference 2023

The annual University of Liverpool Research Staff Conference 2023 took place on Thursday 30th November with an action-packed day of activities dedicated to the theme of 'Merseyvision: Empowering research visionaries'.

Merseyvision: Empowering research visionaries

How to identify, define and enact your vision in the changing world

Organised by the Research Staff Association in collaboration with the Academy, this in-person conference included talks and panel discussions to help research staff consider how they can define, fine-tune, and enact their research and career visions. Research staff were supported to acknowledge and build on their strengths and skills to help maximise their personal and professional development, and speakers from the University of Liverpool and beyond shared insights to help postdocs build on their strengths and skills, and enhance their own development and professional practice.

The 2023 Research Staff Conference also provided space for networking with peers and conference speakers, and during breaks there were activities designed to support researchers to network and connect with their colleagues from across the University’s Faculties.

New for 2023: Well-being Space

For the 2023 Research Staff Conference a well-being space was created for participants to use at any time during the conference. The well-being space included self-directed and guided mindfulness and well-being activities, which were linked to well-being activities and self-reflection logs made freely available in the 2023 Virtual Delegate Pack.

Images of Research Competition

The annual Images of Research competition encourages researchers to express their research or the potential impact of their research in the coming years through captivating and thought-provoking images. For the 2023 competition the theme was 'Research Vision - Envisioning the Impact of Your Research'.
