Liverpool’s Department of Philosophy is on an upward trajectory and has reached unprecedented heights in the latest University league tables. The league table results are based mainly on student satisfaction, the number of staff available to students, graduate prospects, and entry grades. We have improved considerably in all these areas.

In the Guardian University Guide 2025 we are now ranked 17th  in the UK, which is nine places higher than last year. Even more impressive is the progress we have made in the Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, which now ranks us 18th, twelve places higher than last year.

This is the highest position we have ever achieved and a testament to all the good work we’ve been doing in the past few years.

But we’re not done yet. Ever ambitious and forward-looking, we are now setting our sights on reaching the top 10. Oxbridge, here we come.
