About

Carola is a Senior Lecturer in Strategy and Director of Studies for the PhD in Management programme at the University of Liverpool Management School. She previously worked for Aston University after receiving her PhD from the University of St. Gallen/ Switzerland. Her research applies a sociological perspective on strategy processes and practices, exploring issues of strategic change and the emergence of strategy in different organizational contexts. Being particularly interested in the perspective of middle managers, Carola is also focusing on management career studies, for example exploring career trajectories of middle managers. Her research has been published in outlets such as the Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations and Business History Review. In the role of treasurer, Carola currently serves as member of the Executive Committee of the Strategizing Activities and Practices (SAP) interest group of the Academy of Management.
