Graduate and athlete Oli Wilkes at the Olympics in Paris

Aerospace Engineering graduate Oli Wilkes won bronze for Team GB in the Men's Rowing Four Final at this year's Olympics in Paris.

Oli began his rowing journey whilst in his second year at the University. Prior to this, Oli was a swimmer, and pre-university competed in a national championship relay team, this gave him his first insight into elite sport.

Whilst studying with us, Oli learnt to row, he attended a rowing taster in his first year, and decided to join the team in his second year. He went on to graduate from the University in 2016, before completing a master's at the University of Edinburgh.

At the World Rowing Championships in 2023 he won a World Championship gold medal and qualified for Paris 2024.

We'd like to send a huge congratulations to Oli and his team mates, David Ambler, Matt Aldridge and Freddie Davidson for their incredible achievement.
